Born on June 12 in Fort Worth, Texas, Ngozi Kanu (formerly Agukoronye) is the 3rd daughter of Prof. and Mrs. Okechukwu Agukoronye.  Her older sisters are Ijeoma and Nkechi.   

 At the age of 6, she moved to Enugu, with her family, attending primary and secondary school and learning a lot about her igbo culture and heritage.  At 15, she returned to the United States where she completed high school and received her bachelor's degree in Accounting at the University of Texas at Dallas .   

 Ngozi now lives in Houston, TX, where she works as a Sales Analyst.  She aspires to some day study tax law and become a corporate tax attorney.  In her spare time she enjoys designing and sewing, traveling, shopping, music and art (and her husband!).       

Chukwuemeka Eni Kanu is the first (and only) son of Mazi Eni and Ngozi Kanu. Though he traces his roots to the great village of Arochukwu in Nigeria, he was born and raised in Houston, TX . At the tender age of two his parents carried him and his lovely (and only) sister Nneka from civilization out into the bush (i.e. Richmond, TX ). After living in a small bungalow for a decade, his parents decided it was time to move on up and carried him and Nneka even further into the bush (i.e. Colony West Estates). Emeka (which is somewhat easier for non-Nigerians to pronounce and spell) attended St. Thomas’ Episcopal High School in Houston, TX, where he played soccer and varsity basketball. He graduated from St. Thomas’ with high honors in June 1997, and was the first black graduate of the 42-year old institution (only because his parents wouldn’t let him leave). That fall, Emeka continued his academic career at the prestigious Rice University in Houston, TX. After taking his sweet time and making a late change of his major, Emeka was finally kicked out of Rice with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in January 2003. He currently works as a Stock Trader, which is another way of saying he's a professional gambler. In his not-so-spare time, Emeka is the Director of the Teen Bible Quiz Program (www.biblequiz.com) at Braeswood Assembly of God Church in Houston, TX. He also has been known to be an avid music and movie critic, an on-and-off bodybuilder, an occasional source of entertainment, and a GREAT husband (or so he says).
